C’est Cheese

While this may appear to be an abstract painting, in fact it is not. I used, by permission a reference photo taken by Sheila Child of Wise Owl Photography in England. Sheila is a wildlife photographer but also does some microphotography. For the reference photo, she took the rind of a Stilton cheese and put a light behind it. A beautiful image with the most delightful colors and patterns resulted. Once I saw it, i knew I had to paint it. It hangs in my sister's living room. Thank you Sheila.
