I love this view at low tide, so on this year's painting trip to Maine, I had to stop and paint this plein air. I got it mostly finished when the wind got too stiff and I was afraid my easel would topple. Finished in the studio.

The Fog at Burnt End

My day trip to Monhegan turned out to be a very foggy day. I planned to be disappointed. We hiked over to Burnt end with our watercolors and sketch book. Sitting on the edge of the cliff I sketched then photographed the view. Back at the cottage I painted this on a new paper for me called Velour. This was the second time I used it and like it.
